‘Values in Action’ for a Desirable Future – New Blog
This blog will foster dialogue about the values-in-action that are critical to achieving a desirable future. It will provide content, varying perspectives, and links to other resources aimed at provoking your thought and imagination, while giving you knowledge and tools to make a positive difference in your workplaces and communities.
We are focusing on collaboration as the first of these critical values-in-action for two reasons. First, it is one of the four core values of the Institute and is represented by our website’s signature image of a stone arch (we will explore this further in a later post). Second it represents the structure of the blog itself.
As Director for the Institute for Values-Based Leadership (IVBL), I am one of a team of contributors who, through collaboration, hope to generate a higher quality conversation. Richard Barrett is the Founder of the Barrett Values Centre headquartered in North Carolina and the UK. Sue McKee is a Senior Consultant with another of our partners, Integra-Leadership in Toronto. David Jamieson is the Chief Scientist and Director of Advanced Analytics at Environics. Ian Chisholm is a Senior Partner at the Roy Group. The blog team is featured to the right side with links to their bios and websites.
We are all leaders whose organizations are in partnership to foster development of values-based leadership, as well as civic and organizational cultures that will move us through our unpredictable and challenging times towards a more prosperous and sustainable future.
We will be accompanied occasionally by guest bloggers and many posts will feature links to articles and resources that we think will interest you. As ‘fellow travellers’, we invite your own insights and collaboration; please share your comments with us.
