Current key initiatives

In partnership with other experts in the field, the Institute for Values-Based Leadership fosters open dialogue about values, leadership, values-based leadership (VBL) and cultural transformation through colloquia, conferences, presentations, think tanks, workshops and discussion forums.

The following panel discussion was recorded at the Vancouver Forum on Leadership for a New Economy in Uncertain Times February 7, 2012. (This panel was moderated by Ashley Munday; the participants are (left to right) Dr. James Orbinski, Bob Elton, Tor Eneroth, Emanuel Arruda, and Marilyn Taylor.

The same Vancouver Forum featured Dr. James Orbinski as one of the keynote speakers who was interviewed following the plenary session here on the significance of values in all sectors of human society.  Dr. Orbinski led Medicins sans Frontieres/Doctors without Borders into Rwanda, the former Yugoslavia, Somalia and Afganistan; he received, on behalf of his organization, the Nobel Peace Prize.  He is currently appointed at the University of Toronto in the Faculty of Medicine's Dalla Lana School of Public Health as Chair of Global Health, and in the Munk School of Global Affairs.

Gillian Wright, Executive Producer of "R-Evolution" joined panels is Vancouver and Victoria to reflecting on this documentary about the new thinking on leadership that is being expressed across the world.  A trailer of the film can be found at www.worldserversfoundation.org and the documentary can be purchased from the Institute.

The Todd Thomas Institute for Values-Based Leadership hosted this forum with Richard Barrett, the originator of the well-known cultural transformation tools (CTT) used for cultural values assessments. Follow the fascinating discussion on several case studies which illustrate the importance of values in leadership, culture, and transformation, and the opportunites, challenges, results, and surprises along the way.
