Dr. Mary Bernard is the direct report for operations for the Institute as it is situated in the Office of Research and is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for a full range of research undertaken by the University. Her staff provides invaluable advice and support to the Institute.

Marilyn M. Taylor, PhD

Dr. Marilyn M. Taylor was appointed to the Institute for Values-Based Leadership in August 2008 and joined as Director in October 2009. Dr. Taylor focuses on emergent learning, organizational culture change, values-based leadership, and graduate leadership education.
While her research has been situated in widely diverse settings, the continuing theme is understanding and fostering second order learning or values-perspective shift in turbulence and major change in human systems—organizational and community contexts. She published Emergent Learning for Wisdom with Palgrave Macmillan in New York in 2011.

Richard Barrett

Richard Barrett, is the creator of the internationally acclaimed Cultural Transformation Tools®, which have been used to support more than 2,000 organizations and 3,000 leaders on their transformational journeys, in more than fifty countries. Richard is a Fellow of the World Business Academy, and former Values Coordinator at the World Bank. In addition to his work in the field of personal and organizational transformation, Richard is spearheading the BVC’s focus on cultural transformation in nations, and the New Leadership Paradigm emergent, self-directed, self-managed learning system.
Barrett is the author of: A Guide to Liberating Your Soul (1995), Liberating the Corporate Soul: Building a Visionary Organization (1998), Building a Values-Driven Organization: A Whole System Approach to Cultural Transformation (2006), and The New Leadership Paradigm (2010).

David Jamieson, PhD

Chief Scientist & Director, Advanced Analytics (Datascaping, Modelling, and Mapping), Environics.
Dr. David Jamieson is a key advisor on the National Values Assessment Project for the Todd Thomas Institute for Values-Based Leadership.
In his capacity as Chief Scientist, Dr. Jamieson vets and develops for Environics new conceptual/theoretical systems, survey and experimental methodologies, and analytical strategies. As Director of Advanced Analytics (Datascaping, Modelling and Mapping), he specializes in the application of multivariate statistical procedures and models to syndicated and custom survey databases which supports research and counsel in areas such as segmentation, employee engagement studies, corporate imagery/reputation management, social trend analysis, and public policy analysis.
Dr. Jamieson serves as chief analyst for Environics’ international 3SC Social Values Surveys, and was part of the team with Michael Adams that produced the books: Better Happy Than Rich? Canadians, Money, and the Meaning of Life; Fire and Ice: The United States, Canada, and the Myth of Converging Values; and most recently, American Backlash: The Untold Story of Social Change in the United States. Fire and Ice was the 2004 winner of the prestigious Donner Prize for Public Policy writing and was recently named by the Literary Review of Canada on its list of the 100 Most Important Books Ever Published in Canada.

Mark has been instrumental in developing and coordinating a key Practice Project for the Todd Thomas Institute of Values-Based Leadership, the Cultural Values Assessment process, and has facilitated sessions within RRU as well as with external organizations. He is currently part of the design team and will facilitate the new Graduate Certificate in Values-Based Leadership to be launched in 2011.
Mark Fulton is the senior consultant/managing partner with Intersol Consulting Associates Ltd. and is a seasoned facilitator and trainer with over 20 years experience leading organizational effectiveness work and multi-stakeholder consultations in both the public and private sectors. The focus of Mark’s work is helping organizations create workplace cultures that provide winning conditions for success and generate high performance results. He is also Associate Faculty with the School of Leadership Studies specializing in personal, group and organizational leadership.
