Applied Research and Publications

Current key initiatives

We create and publish new knowledge, and organize and communicate existing information around values-based leadership (VBL) to leaders and their organizations—profit and non-profit—through publication in scholarly and mainstream books and articles, videos, and our VBL blog - Values in Action! We led the inaugeral survey on Canadians' national values (review the results here). We also develop education resources and curriculum around values in leadership, and have incorporated our research and expertise into the brand new Graduate Certificate in Values-Based Leadership.

National Values Assessment (NVA) - A comprehensive, applied research survey on national values or what matters most:

We recently hosted a research panel presentation on National Values Assessments at the ILA Conference. For more information...

Enjoy this video on the experience of Australians with their National Values Assessment. Canadians were surveyed in 2009 on our values and more information and the report on what we think is most important can be found here.

Publications:

Here is the cover for the soon to be published book about the surprising ways unforseen challenges can lead to breakthroughs in learning leading to wisdom -Emergent Learning for Wisdom, by Marilyn M. Taylor, PhD, currently in press with Palgrave Macmillian.

Find out more about this topic and how emergent learning is a cycle; one which describes our journey from surprise triggered by an unexpected turn of events, leading to emotional turmoil and a period of reflection and dialogue, through to an increased understanding of self and relationships, and finally to a shift in values-perspective that expands the view of possibilities, and which leads to enhanced wisdom.
